Father's Day Update

Here is a 2007 Father's Day picture with Luke and Daddy D making pirate faces at a new coffee store in town called Pirates of the Care-a-Bean. The store has a fun theme and decor with a pirate nautical flair. (Pirates are the mascot of the nearby high school where Luke graduated and where Daddy D teaches chemistry and physics.) The drink sizes are called "Guppy", "Shark", and "Whaler" Hopefully, they will fare well in the storm of competition and first year business doldrums.

Luke may not consider the above an official "Father's Day Photo." Here is another picture taken yesterday on the front porch steps. This one includes the lovely Frema as well as Luke and Daddy D.

I love the photos and the big, happy smiles! Luke will be a daddy in a while too, won't he? That must make Father's Day feel even more special.

Congratulations on having a new team member on the way! Thanks for visiting my blog. I look forward to visiting yours often. Frema sure has a lot of good things to say about Luke. Does the whole family/team post on this blog? I'm having a bit of difficulty figuring it out... but I like it!

Best of luck to the new coffee shop. It is a locally owned business. They have a range of coffee drinks. The pirate idea is nice, being near Merrillville High School, home of the Pirates.

Once a pirate, always a pirate - from one pirate to another! Happy Father's Day, Daddy D.

Hey, Daddy D! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I love the CAN DO book called "Can Do Pigs" ... or something to that effect. "In the morning, bright and early, can do pigs are ?(forgot) and surly, til they've had their (morning java? then they roll around in lava?) geesh ... I've forgotten ... but it shifts gears into pigs that can do ANYTHING. Which is the same thing all of us can do: anything we put our minds to. Believe it. You heard it here first. Or for the 130th time. Something.

LOL! Arg.

So... Why were they posing as pirates?

Omg. I'm such a dope. I read everything below the pictures but somehow missed the explanation above them. I LOVE the idea of a pirate themed coffee shop! Maybe Hoop and I could open one up here! Of course, I'd have to ban him from having a hook hand. The boy is dangerous enough as it is. :)
